Community Cares East was born from a simple truth: when we care for one another, we rise together.
In the heart of Eastside Los Angeles—where vibrant culture, resilience, and diversity thrive—many individuals and families still face systemic challenges. From housing insecurity and food scarcity to lack of youth support and accessible mental health care, our neighborhoods are in urgent need of resources, dignity, and hope.
Our founders saw this need firsthand. They listened to stories from mothers struggling to feed their children, young people seeking direction, and elders quietly navigating loneliness. They didn’t see brokenness—they saw strength waiting to be recognized. And so, in response, Community Cares East was formed—not as a top-down institution, but as a grassroots movement of neighbors helping neighbors.
